Project Renovations to Improve the Home of a Low-Income Homeowner
Raleigh, N.C.—November 6, 2009 -Triangle Real Estate And Construction Veterans (TREACV), a membership organization for military veterans in the real estate and construction industries, will celebrate Veterans day with a volunteer project to rehabilitate the home of a US Army veteran. The project will be managed by Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, Inc., a Triangle-area non-profit focused on home rehabilitation for low-income homeowners.
Volunteers will repair damaged subflooring and install new flooring in several rooms in the house. The team will also build a wheelchair ramp to help the homeowner move more freely in and out of the home. The repairs will to help ensure the home is healthy, safe, and secure.
"I am heartened by the hard work and dedication of the veterans at TREACV who are volunteering their time and expertise to give back to another fellow veteran," said Wayne Maiorano, Chair of the Rebuilding Together Triangle Board of Directors. "It is so important to honor our veterans by celebrating their contributions and ensuring they have a safe and healthy home. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Veterans Day."
Rebuilding Together Triangle continues to generate support for low-income families, who oftentimes are elderly, disabled, members of the military, or veterans and their families, by providing home repairs, improvements or modifications at no charge to the homeowners.
