MORRISVILLE, N.C. -
Incumbent Mayor Jan Faulkner was unseated by challenger Jackie Holcombe in Tuesday's election.
The race hinged mainly on last year's budget process, where holcombe helped lead a last-minute community effort to have the budget reduced.
That issue made for a clean sweep for the group supporting Holcombe; all of the other three town council candidates endorsed by MorrisvilleAction.org ended up winning.
