FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville Police say a car crashed into a home at 1030 Weiss Avenue Tuesday morning, which caused a gas leak forcing the evacuation of the surrounding area.

Steve David, 58 of Fayetteville, was traveling in-bound on Robeson Street in a Nissan Altima when he turned left onto Weiss Avenue and blacked out. As a result, David lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the home of 59-year-old Charles Williamson.

The accident caused a natural gas line to rupture, and "police and fire units evacuated the immediate area until Piedmont Natural Gas arrived on scene to repair the gas line," police say.

No injuries were reported in this accident.
