  E.Gene.Cayton - are you going to volunteer to rewrite and inscribe a new WELCOME on our Statue of Liberty. Personally, I think Immigration laws should be retroactive and so do the American Indians. Your compassion, or lack thereof, is worrisome. FIRST of all, she is a human being and, like it not, a child of God. We are one planet under God. I think the devisiveness of the last 9 years is eroding our value systems.

  First question, if the Cruz woman is an illegal alien what are her children doing in a public school? If her children were place in a foster family, who paid for all of that? If the children were placed in foster care how did she get authorization to pick them up? None of this would be NC taxpayers problems if she had been arrested in the first place for being in our country illegally, sent home, wherever that may be along with her children. How about the father. Where is he in this picture and he also an illegal alien. Find them all, ship them home. Mexico should be required to pay a substantial portion of the return home costs. Found again in America, arrest, prison time and children are deported to nearest relative or given to the State of Mexico to deal with.

  There is a website named ProtectedToDeathByCPS. You can google it. It is dedicated to children who were killed because of actions taken or NOT taken by CPS. Truly this is one organization that needs to be cleaned out. They don't allow children to be bullies in school so why allow bullies to be in charge of protecting children? Where is Roy T. Cooper, the guy who always CLAIMS he is devoted to protecting children? I have zero faith in an agency that operates like a gestapo without fear of prosecution even when the child ends up Dead due to CPS neglect.

  My HEART goes out to this women because for the past 2 1/2 years DUPLIN COUNTY CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES has put my 2 kids,my ENTIRE family, and myself through LIVING HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These "people"(CPS) have no idea what it means to PROTECT a child!!! My family and I have been screamed at, threatened, picked to pieces for not being perfect!!!!! As well as forcing their way into my home by snatching the door out of my hands when I answered it!!!!! The worst thing of all was forcing me to "place" my disabled daughter in a "therapeutic foster home" where she was severely neglected to the point that she lost 4 jean sizes while staying there!!!! They will NOT live our family alone!!! It is time for change, time for SOMEONE to make CPS stop destroying families and causing heartbreak to innocent people who DONOT deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  North Carolina does not remove children from the care of convicted child sex offenders. They get to keep their children. So why take them from a mother who is undocumented. Time to change the invitation on the Statute of Liberty ??

  These stories shouldn't be posted without all of the facts. Were the kids taken away for legitimate reasons or because she is an illegal alien? There are thousands of illegals in this area with tens of thousands of kids registered to our public schools. NC Board of Education actually has a policy to prevent a school from checking a box on the NC WISE data system stating citizenship, meaning that all illegals are automaticaly registered in the public schools as US Citizens. So this mother, unless we are missing something, is no different than so many others.   She doesn't seem to have committed any crime prior to her children given away for foster care. If her children taken away from her just because she is here in this country illegally, then it is senseless and inhumane for the State to separate her from her kids. Hopefully, someone is not out on a personal vendetta against this woman.
