CARY, N.C. -

Police are searching for two suspects who mugged a Cary man who was walking with his 3-year-old grandchild Thursday.

Around 8:40 a.m., David Kurakula was walking his grandchild in a stroller in the 200 block of Gregory Drive when two men approached him and tried to take contents out of his pockets.

"The boy on the road, the younger one, pounced on the stroller and tried to lift the baby," said Kurakula.  "I was screaming and waving,'Help me! Help me!' but nobody came."

The men took off on foot, but all they got away with with was a paper towell from his pocket.  Nobody was hurt during the incident.

Kurakula said he had noticed the men drive past several times in a white Ford Ranger pickup truck, and they had already raised his supicions.

Police say they have not had any sort of problem like this in the entire town, much less near Gregory Drive.

"It would strictly be a guess here on my part, but maybe they thought he would be an easy pick; with a child with him he wouldn't do a whole lot to defend himself," said Captain Don Hamilton, District 1 Commander for the Cary Police Department.
