Johnston Community College has received a grant from the State Library of North Carolina to expand the public computer lab in the College's library.
The $8,127 grant will pay for seven computers and software, which includes software for visually-impaired users.
Library director Christine Roberts said the new computers will bring the total number in the library's public lab to 26.
"There are times when every computer in the library is filled and we need these additional computers to meet the needs of our students," she said.
The grant is made possible by the Library Services and Technology Act grant funding from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal grant making agency. Two hundred forty-four applications were considered in 10 categories One hundred eighty-five projects have been approved for funding totaling $4.7 million.
