FT. BRAGG, N.C. --
Children will be the focus of part of the Army birthday celebration at a North Carolina post, where an event combines education about the Army's history with a cake.
Hundreds of soldiers' children were invited to a Friday morning party at the post's youth center. The post said activities include reading of this year's Army Birthday Book, "Sam, the Army Dog," followed by a cake-cutting.
The official 234th birthday of the Army is Sunday.
