About 50 paratroopers are jumping for the first time after returning to their North Carolina base from a 15 month deployment to Iraq.
The paratroopers from Fort Bragg's 18th Airborne Corps will jump Wednesday afternoon from a C-130. The jump is part of the Army's airborne recertification process.
The unit served as headquarters for the Multi-National Corps in Iraq from Feb. 14, 2008, to Apr. 4. Vice President Joe Biden welcomed the headquarters unit back to its base last month during a ceremony.
