Wilson county residents are cleaning up after a tornado tore through the Rock Ridge Community.
“It’s something out a movie. It’s unreal. It’s a total loss. Roofs gone, walls are gone, buildings thrown 500 yards,” said witness Buddy Johnson.
The reality blew in with sudden fury just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
“I could see hail and the next thing I knew debris was circling up in the air. It picked it up some place before it hit our house,” said witness Ron Eisenhauer.
As debris flew, Ron ran for the bathroom with his wife, grandson and dog.
“We got on the floor. You heard it; it was loud and gone within 15 seconds,” he said.
But in those 15 seconds life changed in Wilson’s Rock Ridge area.
“We are the worst hit area in Wilson County,” declared EMS operations Officer Alan Parnell.
