The first full work week of 2009 opens with forecasters from two North Carolina trade groups offering their predictions for the new year.
The North Carolina Bankers Association and the Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring an economic forecast forum in Raleigh on Monday.
Speakers include Governor-Elect Beverly Perdue, Progress Energy Chairman Bill Johnson, U.S. Chamber of Commerce chief economist Martin Regalia, and Harry Davis, the bankers association's economist and a banking professor at Appalachian State University.
Monday's schedule includes two panel discussions discussing the state's most pressing transportation challenges, with some solutions.
