About 300 ConAgra Foods workers in Garner are losing their jobs this week.
The layoffs are the result of the explosion in June that killed three people and seriously damaged part of the Garner plant, the company said.
Garner officials met with ConAgra representatives this week to talk about possible local, state, and federal incentives to keep the company in Garner.
"They are reevaluating dates and times and production and the cost of doing business. And I guess it's always a possibility that they may close," Mayor Ronnie Williams said.
Williams expects ConAgra will make a decision about its future in Garner within 60 to 90 days.

I think I'm going to count to ten in order to not scream... Can someone tell me the incentives that small business's get? States, towns, counties seem so willing to "sell the farm" to these large companies they don't understand the implications of what they do. But then the politicians can complain about corporations not paying their fair share of taxes. EGAD, we keep electing these people!
