Golf Tourney To Benefit Hospice Center

SMITHFIELD, N.C. -

Golfers are invited to participate in the annual Dr. Hubert M. Poteat Memorial Golf Tournament on Oct. 31 at the Country Club of Johnston County.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Johnston Memorial Hospital Foundation's $3.8 million capital campaign to build an inpatient and residential hospice center in Smithfield.

The tournament format calls for four-member teams, with start times at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The fee is $100 per player and includes green fees, cart, practice balls, a box lunch and dinner afterward. All players will have a chance to win door prizes and a $500 gift certificate in a drawing.
